Parliament Adopts Hearing Report on NIS Chief Nominee

The parliamentary intelligence committee has adopted its report on the outcome of a confirmation hearing for National Intelligence Service director-designate Suh Hoon.

The committee planned to adopt the report on Tuesday, but pushed it to Wednesday after requesting the nominee submit additional documents detailing his increase of wealth in 2007.

The nominee presented records that clarified 450 million won of his wealth came from an increase in the value of the funds he was holding.

Suh is the second high-ranking official to get parliamentary endorsement under the Moon Jae-in government after Prime Minister nominee Lee Nak-yon.
