Rival Camps Agree to Adopt Resolution Urging Inter-Korean Family Reunions

The National Assembly has decided to adopt on Thursday a resolution calling for the opening of cross-border reunions of families separated during the Korean War.

The decision was reached during a regular meeting of the floor leaders of the ruling Democratic Party(DP), main opposition Liberty Korea Party(LKP), minor opposition People’s Party and Bareun Party.

During the meeting chaired by National Assembly Speaker Chung Sye-kyun, the floor leaders also agreed to pass during Thursday’s plenary session a revised bill on political funds and bills that are approved at the Legislation and Judiciary Committee.

However, rival camps failed to narrow differences over reviewing the extra budget plan.

The DP, People’s Party and Bareun Party have agreed to launch deliberations on the supplementary budget plan but the LKP is said to have maintained its opposition.
