Gov't to Give Extra Points to Budget Programs Creating Jobs

The government says it's going to start streamlining key budget programs next year based on whether the programs help create jobs.

The presidential job committee approved a job-centered national affairs management plan Tuesday, under which some one-thousand projects requiring ten billion won per year will come under new scrutiny.

Highest priority will be given to those programs that help create jobs, and benefits will be directed towards companies doing the most hiring.

The committee plans to gradually expand the job creation-oriented evaluation system into every state project.
