Trump Warns `Fire and Fury` on NK Warhead

Anchor: A Washington Post report has suggested that North Korea has succeeded in developing a miniaturized nuclear warhead. It cited U.S. intelligence officials as assessing that North Korea has produced a nuclear warhead small enough to fit on an intercontinental ballistic missile.

Report: The Washington Post’s report heralds a sobering new chapter in North Korea’s provocations.
The U.S. daily said North Korea crossed a key threshold on the path to becoming a full-fledged nuclear power.

It quoted U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency officials as assessing that the communist country has developed a warhead design that is small enough to fit atop an intercontinental ballistic missile.
Following the report on Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump issued, by far, his sternest warning to date.
[Sound bite: U.S. President Donald Trump]
"North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury, like the world has never seen. He has been very threatening, beyond a normal statement and as I said they will be met with fire, fury and frankly power, the likes of which this world has never seen before."
Albeit a warning, the remarks seem to acknowledge North Korea’s threats which are growing increasingly graver.
But as of yet, the Washington Post said it is not known whether North Korea has successfully tested the smaller nuclear device although it officially claimed last year that it had done so.
In addition, the North is not believed to have secured the key technology needed to allow the warhead’s re-entry into the atmosphere to strike potential targets.
