S. Korea, US to Hold Vice Foreign Ministers' Strategic Dialogue

The vice foreign ministers of South Korea and the U.S. will meet in Seoul next week for strategic discussions.
The South Korean Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that First Vice Foreign Minister Lim Sung-nam will meet with Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan next Wednesday.
The strategic dialogue would be the first between South Korean and U.S. vice foreign ministers since talks in June 2014 in Washington.
The ministry expects next week’s meeting will provide an opportunity for the two allies to prepare for President Donald Trump's trip to South Korea in November. The ministry also believes it will allow the allies to improve their policy coordination and cooperation on bilateral issues and the North Korean nuclear issue.
The ministry said the two officials will also hold a three-way meeting with their Japanese counterpart Shinsuke Sugiyama on the same day to discuss various issues including the North Korean nuclear and missile threats.
