Finance Minister: EU Blacklisting 'Not Serious Problem Yet'

Finance Minister Kim Dong-yeon says he doesn't see the EU's blacklisting of South Korea as a tax haven as a serious problem yet.

Kim told reporters following an economy-related meeting Wednesday that South Korea meets all international standards such as those for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The EU on Tuesday released a blacklist of 17 countries deemed to be tax havens, including South Korea.

Kim said the government has already sent a letter to the EU on the matter, adding that there haven't been additional announcements such as sanction measures.
