Moon to Embark on 4-Day State Visit to China Next Wed.

President Moon Jae-in will head to China for a four-day state visit next Wednesday.

Presidential spokesperson Park Soo-hyun announced the itinerary in a news briefing on Wednesday.

During the trip, Moon will hold a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing and visit the southwestern city of Chongqing.

In his meetings with Chinese leaders including Premier Li Keqiang , the president is expected to reflect on the two countries' 25 years of bilateral ties, and discuss ways to further boost relations.

The North Korea issue will also be on top of the agenda, according to the spokesman. He said Moon will likely discuss areas of cooperation to bring about peace on the Korean Peninsula.

The spokesman expressed hope that Moon's first state visit to Beijing will provide the momentum to strengthen trust and exchanges between the two countries.
