Navy Chief Visits Anti-Piracy Unit Abroad |

The Chief of Naval Operations has visited the nation’s anti-piracy unit ,Cheonghae, operating off the Somali coast.
Admiral Jung Ok-geun arrived Wednesday in Djibouti Port where the destroyer Munmu the Great is anchored, to boost the morale of its troops. He also paid visits to two other South Korean destroyers “Choe Yeong” and “Dae Jo Yeong” in the port for the navy's global training program.
It is the first time for the top admiral to visit troops in foreign waters.
Meanwhile, Jung held a series of meetings with the U.S. 5th Fleet commander, Bahrain’s chief of staff, the commander of French troops and Djibouti’s defense minister, asking for their cooperation and assistance in Cheonghae's operational conditions.
