The two Koreas have exchanged fire at the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) near the border city of Paju, Gyeonggi Province.
An official of South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said Sunday that the South fired warning shots toward North Korean soldiers approaching the MDL at around 5:40 p.m. The official said the North fired at a South's guard post after the warning shots and the South again fired back.
The official said the exchange of fire lasted for ten minutes and ended at around 5:50 p.m.
No damage has been reported on the South's side of the border. The military is closely monitoring the North Korean military's moves.
