North Korea criticized U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's remark in Seoul last Friday that America's policy of "strategic patience" with the North has ended.
In an interview with Pyongyang's state-run Korean Central News Agency published Monday, a spokesperson for the North's Foreign Ministry claimed that Tillerson is just repeating Obama's sanctions policy.
The spokesperson added that neither Obama nor Tillerson understands why the North is building up its nuclear power.
The official said that if the Trump administration was aiming to surprise Pyongyang, it will soon see that such a gimmick won't work.
The spokesman also said that the U.S. will soon realize the meaning of its rocket engine test, conducted last week, implying an additional provocation.
