Park Tae-hwan Wins 20th Asiad Medal with Friday's Bronze

Swimming star Park Tae-hwan has won more medals at the Asian Games than any other South Korean athlete.

The Beijing Olympic gold medalist was the last swimmer for Team Korea, which won the bronze medal in the men’s 400-meter medley relay final Friday night.

The team, which also includes Park Seon-kwan, Choi Kyu-woong and Chang Gyu-cheol, clocked three minutes 39-point-18 seconds, falling behind China’s three minutes 31-point-37 seconds and Japan’s three minutes 31-point-70 seconds.

The bronze medal is Park’s 20th Asiad medal, putting him ahead of legendary shooter Park Byung-taek, who has won 19 medals from six Asian Games through the Guangzhou Asiad in 2010.

The 24-year-old swimmer has won six medals at Incheon with five bronze and a silver medal. He won six gold, three silver and five bronze medals at the two previous Asian Games in Doha and Guangzhou.
