Hyun-woong: 예전에 선배가 나한테 이런 얘기를 한 적이 있어.
You once told me this a long time ago.
날 알면, 너도 내가 싫어질 거라고.
If you know me, you won’t like me either.
Min-hee: 그랬어, 내가?
I said that?
Hyun-wong: 난 그게 그냥 날 떼어내려고 핑계 대는 건 줄 알았어.
I thought you were making an excuse to drive me away.
그런데 지금은 이해가 가.
But now I understand.

이해가 가 (I understand.)

이해 – (noun) understanding; comprehension
이해가 가다 – to make sense, to get (it), to know what someone means

Casual – 이해가 가.
Semi-polite – 이해가 가요.
Polite – 이해가 갑니다.

>>a similar expression to [이해가 가다] would be [이해가 되다]
Ex) [이해가 가다] = [이해가 되다] = to understand, to know what someone means, to make sense

>>the opposite meaning to [이해가 가다] would be [이해가 안 가다] or [이해 할 수 없다] which means “to not make sense” or “can’t understand”
