Singer BoA has recently been cast in an American movie, "COBU 3D", with plans of filming in Toronto and New York slated for this upcoming spring, according to SM Entertainment on January 28th.
The young artist will be sharing the big screen with a new and rising star, Derek Hough, who gained much popularity through the popular US show, "Dancing With The Stars". He even came out as the champion one season.
"COBU 3D" will be about dancers who grew up in different backgrounds, but meet in the New York underground dance scene. They come across dance challenges with an underlaying love theme of Romeo and Juliet.
SM described the project to be a love story fused with a wide array of different dance genres: tap dancing, hip hop, and even swing. The entertainment giant also said that the some of the best people in dance films will be putting their heads together to make this the best dance flick-- in 3D at that! The movie will be directed by Duane Adler, who also wrote hit dance flicks "Save The Last Dance" and "Step Up". Robert Cort, who produced winners such as "Jumanji" and "Runaway Bride" will be teaming up with CJ Entertainment and SM Entertainment for production.
