A major K-culture festival has kicked off in Brazil, drawing thousands of visitors.

The Brazil Hallyu Expo 2018 opened in Sao Paulo on Saturday, drawing crowds of visitors interested in Korean culture.

The expo is hosted by a culture center that is funded by the South Korean government in efforts to turn Brazil into a hub to spread “hallyu” or the Korean Wave.

The event features various programs such as photo exhibitions, taekwondo performances and Korean film screenings.
