The Bank of Korea(BOK) froze the benchmark interest rate at one-point-75 percent for April. 
 
The central bank’s monetary policy board on Thursday kept the key rate steady for the fifth straight month after raising it by a quarter percentage point last November. 

The BOK's stance has been widely expected as major countries shifted to a more expansionary policy amid concerns of a global economic slowdown.
