Gov't Looks to Open Korean Clinic in Haiti

The South Korean government is seeking to open a medical clinic in Haiti's capital of Port-au-Prince.

Korea's second medical rescue team arrived in Haiti on Friday morning. It includes 18 doctors and nurses from the National Medical Center and the Korean Foundation for International Healthcare.

They immediately set out to help victims and also examined three candidate sites for the Korean clinic.

The first team, consisting of medics from Asan Medical Center and the University of Ulsan, treated emergency patients from Sunday through Friday at a Port-au-Prince hospital.

The Korean branch of the relief agency Good Neighbors will also deliver food and supplies to the people of Haiti.

A group of six ruling Grand National Party lawmakers will soon arrive in Haiti to help with relief efforts.
