20 S.Koreans Rescued From Peru Flood

Twenty of 34 South Koreans who were stranded at the Peruvian tourist attraction of Machu Picchu by floods have been rescued.

The Foreign Ministry in Seoul said 14 more South Koreans are awaiting rescue in the ancient Incan city.

A total of 25-hundred tourists are thought to have been stranded by the floods and mudslides resulting from heavy rains.

The South Korean Embassy in Peru sent a consul to the site of the incident to facilitate rescue operations for the stranded South Korean tourists.
