Seoul to Build Park in Hanoi

The Seoul government will build a park in its sister city of Hanoi this year.

Officials are surveying sites measuring 15-hundred square meters in the downtown area of the Vietnamese capital where construction of “Seoul Park” will begin within the year.

The park will house traditional Korean structures and other cultural properties.

Seoul will also make a time capsule as a token of friendship and as a way of marking the one-thousandth year since the Vietnamese capital was moved to Hanoi. The capsule will be placed at a Hanoi museum sometime around October tenth, which is the official anniversary of the transfer of the capital.

The capsule will contain symbols of the two nations and records on the history of bilateral exchange. It will be opened after one-thousand years.
