Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei says North Korean leader Kim Jong-il (left) is welcome to visit China at any time.

Wu was speaking Saturday at the National People's Congress in Beijing after being asked if Kim will visit China this month.

He says the North and China take for granted mutual visits by each other's leader.

Wu says Kim has expressed an intent to visit China several times over the past three years but a trip has yet to materialize.

The Chinese official says he is not in charge of the matter and thus has no information on it.
