A leading U.S. think tank says there is no need to rush the transfer of wartime operational command to South Korea, which is set to take place in April 2012.

The Council on Foreign Relations made the assessment of U.S. policies regarding the Korean Peninsula in a report released this month.

In the report, the research center proposed that the Obama administration seek the ratification of the South Korea-U.S. free trade agreement next year.
