Russian ambassador to Seoul Konstantin Vnukov says the results of Russia’s probe into the sinking of the Cheonan naval vessel will be available in two or three weeks.

Vnukov said on Wednesday that a team of Russian experts, including members who had visited South Korea, are closely analyzing the evidence and will make an objective and scientific conclusion.

The ambassador said Russia is highly satisfied with South Korean cooperation and is ready to defuse tensions in the region by helping to resolve this problem.

He added that the stalled six-party talks are the only way to resolve the issue and encouraged participating nations to devise a new strategy to resume the multilateral talks.
