S.Korea-India to Begin Negotiations for Nuke Power Agreement

The Foreign Ministry says South Korea and India will resume working-level discussions for a collaboration agreement on generating nuclear power.

Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan and Indian Foreign Minister Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna reportedly agreed to resume the talks at the 6th Meeting of the ROK-India Joint Commission in Seoul on Friday.

Foreign Minister Yu expressed his gratitude to India for its statement supporting South Korea in regards to North Korea's sinking of the Cheonan warship.

The ministry official also said that bilateral trade has increased 70 percent after the two countries' Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) took effect in January. The two ministers agreed to pursue efforts to increase trade to 300-million dollars by 2014.
