Indian media are reporting that South Korea and India have agreed that the South will use Indian launch vehicles for its satellites.

During a courtesy visit to President Lee Myung-bak on Thursday, India's Foreign Minister S. M. Krishna proposed that Seoul use Indian launch vehicles for its future rocket launches, to which Lee accepted.

The Indian foreign ministry on Friday said that Krishna made the proposal based on the memorandum of understanding, signed last January between the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the Korean Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). The statement added that President Lee agreed with the proposal and asked his officials to take necessary follow-up measures.

India, an advanced country in space development, successfully launched a rocket that placed ten satellites in orbit in 2008.
