US Museum Marks 60th Anniv. of Korean War

The Harry S. Truman Library and Museum in the United States has held a ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of the Korean War.

Some two-thousand people, including Korean War veterans, took part in the event Monday at the museum located in Independence, Missouri, which is the hometown of the former U.S. president. Truman was the 33rd president of the United States who had made the decision on U.S. participation in the Korean War.

U.S. Central Command commander, General David Petraeus attended the ceremony and said Truman had made the right decision to enter the Korean War, adding that thanks to his decision, South Korea maintained democracy and peace.
