A Korean company has completed construction of the Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore, dubbed the modern-day leaning tower of Pisa.

The hotel, with 57 floors and an east tower that leans some 52 degrees, was built by Ssangyong E&C. The building held its opening ceremony today.

The hotel's cutting-edge technology includes steel rods connected inside the building to prevent it from toppling. Ssangyong also constructed the Sands SkyPark, a flat roof measuring twice the size of a soccer field.
