Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan and his Chinese counterpart, Yang Jiechi, plan to meet on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Toronto, Canada to be held from Saturday.

A ministry official said the two foreign ministers will hold in-depth discussions on responses to the sinking of South Korea’s Cheonan naval warship. South Korea has sent the incident to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

In particular, Yu is expected to ask China to help send a clear response from the UNSC denouncing North Korea's sinking of the Cheonan.

Yu will also request similar support from other UNSC members.
