S.Korea-Serbia Agree to Increase Trade and Investment

Prime Minister Chung Un-chan met with Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic in Korea on Tuesday and discussed ways to promote bilateral cooperation, including an expansion of trade and investment. Also discussed were the situations on the Korean Peninsula and in Europe.

Chung said at the meeting that Cvetkovic’s visit would contribute to a bilateral future-oriented and mature partnership. South Korea and Serbia established diplomatic relations in 1989.

He also thanked Serbia for supporting South Korea’s stance and asked for steady cooperation on South Korea’s inter-Korean policy. This includes response measures to the Cheonan incident.

The Serbian prime minister responded that promoting bilateral relations through high-level exchange is necessary. He expressed deep interest in particular towards cooperation in information technology.
