An editorial in the British daily The Times has blasted the U.N. Security Council's response to the sinking of South Korea’s “Cheonan,” which claimed 46 lives in March.

The editorial titled "Another mealy-mouthed cop-out over North Korea," says the UNSC chairman's statement was just a step up from a media release, had no sanctioning power and didn't mention the perpetrator.

The editorial said that there's a lot to lose from seeking military solutions on North Korea, and that diplomatic solutions are also restricted due to China, which wants to maintain the status quo.
