Ex-NK Agent Visits Former Japanese PM's Residence

Former North Korean agent Kim Hyun-hee has reportedly made a stop at the residence of former Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama.

Shortly after arriving in Tokyo on Tuesday morning, Kim headed to Hatoyama’s residence in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, to make preparations for her four-day stay in Japan.

Kim, who took part in the bombing of a Korean Air flight in 1987 and who is now living in South Korea, is set to meet with the parents of Megumi Yokota, who was abducted by the communist state in the 1970s.

She will also meet with families of other Japanese abductees as well as with Hiroshi Nakai, the minister in charge of North Korea’s abductions of Japanese nationals.

Japanese media are giving extensive coverage to Kim’s trip, but the Japanese government is not disclosing any details about her schedule due to security concerns.
