South Korea's Foreign Ministry says it respects the Supreme Court's decision ordering a Japanese company to compensate Koreans who were lured into forced labor during World War Two.

A ministry official said Thursday the government will work to help heal the wounds of forced labor victims.

The official also hoped Seoul and Tokyo will move their relations forward in a future-oriented manner.
