S. Korea Reports 91 News COVID-19 Cases

South Korea has reported more than 90 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday amid sporadic cluster infections in the greater Seoul area.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said on Sunday that 91 additional cases were confirmed throughout Saturday, bringing the accumulated caseload to 25-thousand-199.

The daily figure remained in the double-digits for three consecutive days, but increased by 18 from the previous day to approach 100 cases on Sunday.

Of the new cases, 71 were domestic cases while 20 were imported.

Most of the local cases came from the wider metro area including 48 in Gyeonggi Province, 18 in Seoul and one in Incheon.

The number of critically ill COVID-19 patients stands at 77.

One more virus-related death was reported, raising the coronavirus death toll to 444. The fatality rate is one-point-76 percent.
