South Korea's highest court upheld a lower court ruling that sentenced former President Park Geun-hye to 20 years in prison for bribery and other corruption charges.

The Supreme Court on Thursday confirmed the prison term ordered by an appellate court in July last year.

Including a two-year jail term for her 2018 conviction of illegal intervention in the nomination process for the then-ruling Saenuri Party, Park will have to serve 22 years in prison.
