The government said on Friday that it will announce a set of measures to increase the housing supply next month. 

In a meeting of economy-related ministers, Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki said that the government was deliberating various supply measures and will try to present them within next month. 

The government said earlier that it would release the measures before the Lunar New Year holiday in mid February. 

The minister also reaffirmed the position that the government will stick to property-related taxes and regulations to curb housing speculation, dismissing recent calls from the political circle for tax cuts to encourage multiple home owners to sell. 

In addition, Hong said that Seoul City has selected eight sections in the capital as candidates for pilot redevelopment projects that will be pushed with public developers. 

He said that if the redevelopment projects proceed smoothly, more than 47-hundred public housing units are expected to be supplied in the capital city.
