Heavy snow is expected to hit South Korea on Monday, with related advisories issued for parts of the capital region as well as the Chungcheong and Jeolla provinces.
The Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA) forecast more than ten centimeters of heavy snow for the western parts of Gangwon Province and three to eight centimeters for the central region and southern inland areas.
East coast areas in Gangwon and North Jeolla Provinces are also expected to receive about one centimeter of snow.
The weather agency warned that some areas will see a lot of snow in a short time on Monday morning, causing possible traffic congestion during the morning rush hour.
The snow is expected to let up from western areas in the afternoon, while parts of eastern areas in Gangwon, North Chungcheong and North Gyeongsang provinces are likely to see more snowfall through late afternoon.
Temperatures are forecast to rise to minus one degree Celsius to eight degrees on Monday afternoon, up three to five degrees from the previous day.
However, morning lows across the nation for Tuesday are expected to fall by five to ten degrees from Monday.
