President Moon Jae-in is set to hold a New Year’s press conference on Monday to explain the government’s key policies for 2021.

The 100-minute live television event will begin at 10 a.m. at the presidential office.

During the first virtual press conference amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Moon will share his thoughts on a wide array of state affairs, including the epidemic, economy, politics, diplomacy and security issues.

Due to pandemic-related distancing rules, the top office will limit attendance to 20 journalists, with another 100 to access the conference online.

Attention is drawn to whether the president will cover the issue of possible pardons for two convicted former presidents and real estate policies.

He is expected to address various issues such as the coronavirus vaccines, prosecution reform and deadlocked relations with North Korea and Japan.
