Moon Replaces Foreign Minister Kang with Former National Security Advisor Chung Eui-yong

Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha will be replaced as the presidential office announced on Wednesday that former National Security Adviser Chung Eui-yong will be her successor.

The replacement of Kang, the only inaugural minister left on the Moon Jae-in Cabinet, is believed to be a part of a reshuffle the government was expected to announce this week. 

Other possible posts to be affected include the SMEs and Startups ministry, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries as well as the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. 

SMEs and Startups Minister Park Young-sun offered her resignation on Wednesday morning apparently to run for Seoul mayor.
