Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun vowed to mobilize all administrative means to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 at an unaccredited boarding school in the central city of Daejeon, which has at least 166 linked cases so far.

At a meeting with officials on Tuesday, Chung said the nation will outpace the virus based on lessons learned from previous clusters linked to religious groups, including the Shincheonji sect in the southeastern city of Daegu.

The prime minister urged authorities and local governments to take more than necessary quarantine steps in response to even the smallest risks.

Referring to global infections surpassing 100 million and the death toll standing at over two-point-14 million according to Worldometer, Chung reiterated calls for thorough quarantine against new strains of the virus.
