Fine Dust Hits S. Korea Sunday

Fine dust levels rose significantly high across the nation on Sunday on the last day of the Lunar New Year Holiday.

Ultrafine dust advisories are in place for Seoul and its surrounding areas, South Chungcheong and North Jeolla Provinces, with air quality across the nation, except Busan and Jeju Island, being "bad" or "very bad."

The Environment Ministry issued the fine dust advisories for six regions including Seoul at 6 a.m. Sunday, enforcing emergency find dust reduction measures in the regions.

Seoul City also said the previous day that it will enforce emergency fine dust reduction measures from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, limiting the operation of construction sites or plants emitting air pollutants.
