South Korea's COVID-19 vaccination is set to begin this week. 

Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun said on Sunday that 117-thousand doses of Pfizer vaccines will arrive in South Korea on Friday and they will be administered to medical service personnel treating coronavirus patients from Saturday. 
 
The prime minister made the remarks during a meeting on the COVID-19 response held at the government complex in Seoul. 

Chung also said that the country will begin the COVID-19 inoculation program with AstraZeneca's vaccines on Friday, with the first shots to be administered to staff members and patients at nursing homes and facilities.

The prime minister urged people to actively participate in the national inoculation program, noting that 94 percent of those who are qualified for the first shots agreed to receive them.
