Son Heung-min Scores 22nd Goal of Season to Set New Career High

South Korean forward Son Heung-min of the Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League has scored his new career high on Saturday.

Son scored an equalizer in the 25th minutes in a match against Leeds United at Elland Road in Leeds, England on Saturday. Tottenham lost 3 to 1.

The goal was Son’s 17th in a Premier League season, tying Cha Bum-kun's decades-old record for most goals in a season by a South Korean player in European leagues. Cha scored 17 goals for Germany's Bundesliga in the 1985 and 1986 season.

With the latest goal, Son has now netted a total of 22 goals this season, including four in the UEFA Europa League, surpassing his previous record of 21 goals set in the 2016-2017 season.
