A domestically developed synthetic antigen-based COVID-19 vaccine has entered its third-phase clinical trial, according to the National Institute of Health.

Another synthetic antigen-based vaccine, two DNA vaccines and one viral vector vaccine are currently in phase two trials while three other candidates are in their first-phase tests.

The institute said the third expert committee meeting on mRNA vaccines was held on September 14 and that inter-agency cooperation and state support continues to enable the swift development of domestic vaccines.

It added that joint research is under way with vaccine makers on developing candidate materials and conducting nonclinical evaluations.
