Another South Korean victim of Japan's wartime sexual slavery has died.

The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family said on Friday that the bereaved family of the victim - who had passed earlier in the day - asked that her identity and cause of death not be made public.

With her death, the number of registered South Korean victims still alive is down to 13.

Gender Equality and Family Minister Chung Young-ai said it is painful to send away another victim of Japan’s wartime sexual slavery, recommitting to support victims and actively help restore their honor and dignity.
