The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, losing 18-point-59 points, or one-point-80 percent, to close at one-thousand-13-point-72.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened four-point-six won against the dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-189-point-seven won.
