KOSPI Ends Wednesday Up 2.14%

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) rose 60-point-71 points, or two-point-14 percent, on Wednesday, closing the day at two-thousand-899-point-72.

The main bourse rebounded after dropping to an annual low on Tuesday amid growing concerns over the new COVID-19 variant, omicron. 

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining eleven-point-52 points, or one-point-19 percent, to close at 977-point-15.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened eight-point-seven won against the dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-179-point-two won.
