The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) rose 53-point-89 points, or two-point-five percent, on Tuesday, closing the day at two-thousand-209-point-38.

It marked the first close above the two-thousand-200 mark since last Tuesday.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining 24-point-14 points, or three-point-59 percent, to close at 696-point-79.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened three-point-seven won against the dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-426-point-five won.
