New daily COVID-19 cases dropped by over ten-thousand from a day ago to fall below 60-thousand on Thursday.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said that 59-thousand-89 new cases were compiled on Wednesday, including 55 imported from overseas, bringing the total caseload to about 26 million-784-thousand.
The daily tally dropped by some eleven-thousand from a day ago but rose by about 37-hundred from both one week and two weeks ago.
The number of critically ill hospitalized patients is down by 40 from a day ago at 437, staying above 400 for the sixth consecutive day.
Wednesday reported 59 deaths, raising the cumulative toll to 30-thousand-223. The fatality rate stands at zero-point-11 percent.
