The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also gained 12-point-63 points, or one-point-74 percent, to close the day at 738-point-22.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency, the South Korean won, strengthened 23-point-six won against the U.S. dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-328-point-two won.
