New COVID-19 Cases in 70,000 for Second Day

New COVID-19 cases registered in the 70-thousands for a second day, rising by about seven-thousand from a week ago.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said Wednesday that 74-thousand-714 new cases were compiled on Tuesday, including 60 cases from overseas, bringing the total caseload to around 27 million-483-thousand. 

The daily tally dropped by some three-thousand from a day ago, but rose by over 73-hundred from a week ago. Compared to two weeks ago, it rose by 44-hundred.

It is the highest for a Wednesday figure in 12 weeks since around 94-thousand cases registered on September 14. 

The number of critically ill hospitalized patients is down by two from a day ago at 441, having remained above 400 since November 19.

Tuesday added 54 deaths, raising the cumulative toll to 30-thousand-847. The fatality rate stands at zero-point-11 percent.
