New daily COVID-19 cases registered in the four-thousands on Monday.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said that four-thousand-198 infections were reported throughout Sunday, including 12 from overseas, bringing the total caseload to nearly 30-million-639-thousand. 

The figure is down by 97 from a week ago but up by more than 174 from two weeks ago. 

The Sunday figure, also announced on Monday, came to nine-thousand-342, down by 466 from a week earlier.

The daily average for the past week was tallied at nine-thousand-977.

The number of hospitalized patients for intensive care reached 142, down by four from a day ago.

A dozen additional deaths were reported to raise the death toll to 34-thousand-115. The overall fatality rate remains at zero-point-11 percent.
