New COVID-19 cases registered in the 12-thousands on Tuesday amid a continued slowdown in the transmission of the virus.

The Central Disease Control Headquarters said on Tuesday that 12-thousand-16 infections were reported throughout the previous day, including 17 from overseas, bringing the total caseload to nearly 30 million-715-thousand.

The figure rose by some eight-thousand from a day ago due to increased tests after the weekend. It rose by 617 from a week ago, but fell 263 from two weeks ago.

The number of hospitalized patients in intensive care rose by six from the previous day to stand at 128.
